The Government of India, the Ministry of health and family welfare, and the Ministry of Tourism are working hard to make India a leading medical destination. For this purpose, a medical visa(M-visa) has been introduced which allows a medical tourist to be in India for a specific period. Apart from this, a visa on arrival is granted for citizens from a few selected countries, which allows them to stay for 60 days.

Indian Medical Visa

This type of visa is only granted to the patient and not to family members. Blood relatives can obtain a medical attendant visa to accompany the Medical visa holder. The validity of the attendant’s Visa will be the same as for the patient.

How does a Medical visa work?

Obtaining a Medical visa is a simple and straightforward process. Eligible travellers can easily complete the application providing a few essential details such as

  1. Medical Reports
  2. Contact information
  3. Passport Copy of Patient as well as attenders

All applicants must answer a series of security questions and pay the Indian Medical visa fee with a debit or credit card.
